Gay learned her love of clay and pottery from the instructors and members at Potters Place. She joined the studio to develop her artistic style. Her work is primarily functional slab and wheel  thrown pottery. Fascinated with color, and glaze textures, she experiments with different glazes to achieve new and pleasing combinations.
